Client Requirement
To organize the safe reloading of a boat from a flat-rack container onto a truck platform, preserving the hull and eliminating tilting or damage. For such transport, it is particularly important to prepare the vessel in advance, remove protruding components, and ensure secure fastening throughout the entire movement.
BSF Actions
Preparation — Everything that could detach or interfere (antennas, rails if necessary) was removed from the boat. The propeller and rudder were protected. Soft supports (foam cushions) were prepared under the keel on the truck.
Unlashing — All straps and lashings securing the boat on the flat-rack container during sea transport were released.
Slinging — Two wide textile slings were placed under the boat hull, strictly at points reinforced by the manufacturer (typically in the area of the keel and transom). Soft padding (mat, foam) was placed between the sling and the hull. The slings were connected to the crane's spreader bar.
Test lift — The crane lifted the boat slightly by 2–3 cm; even tension and absence of tilting were checked. The boat was then lowered back down if everything was satisfactory.
Main lift and removal — The boat was lifted 10–15 cm above the sides of the flat-rack container. Two workers guided it with tag lines (ropes) to prevent swinging. The crane slowly moved the boat away from the container.
Loading onto the truck — The boat was transferred over the truck platform, where keel cushions had already been placed. It was lowered precisely onto these supports, ensuring the keel did not strike the metal. The slings were then removed.
Securing — The boat was tied down to the truck bed using soft straps through the factory lashing points, with additional padding under the straps on the hull. Side lashings were also added for stability.
Result
The boat was reloaded without impacts, tilting, or hull damage. BSF ensured safe transfer of the cargo onto the truck and its secure fastening for onward transportation.
