Reloading of a lattice boom section of a crawler crane

Client Requirement

Reloading (перетарка) of a steel lattice boom section of a crawler crane weighing 3,780 kg onto road transport. Requirements: complete structural integrity, no deformation, and compliance with manufacturer specifications.

Work Process by BSF

The BSF team performed the reloading using specialized equipment and strict safety controls.

Slinging: The section was slung at two points using soft textile slings, strictly through the designated lifting points (lugs / eyebolts) on the section. Wrapping slings around the lattice structure was prohibited due to the risk of deformation.

Lifting equipment: A crane was used exclusively; a forklift was prohibited due to the length and flexibility of the section. A spreader beam (distribution bar) or adjustable slings were used to evenly distribute the load.

Lifting and transfer: The section was lifted smoothly without jerking, then transferred and lowered onto the truck strictly in a horizontal position onto wooden supports (to prevent slipping).

Securing: The section was secured to the truck bed using a minimum of four straps through the lugs, with soft edge protectors to prevent friction against sharp lattice edges.

Result

The section was transferred without deformation, bending, or impact. The cargo was delivered to the client in perfect condition, accompanied by a completed work report. BSF minimized risks through its experience in heavy equipment handling.
